Overview
In order to be recognized as a Registered Associate, a member must accumulate at least 150 points for participation on state, local or national levels. A minimum of 50 points must be from involvement on state and local levels, with the remaining 50 points coming from any level of involvement. Beginning in January 2005 to be placed on the Active Registered Associate list, you must attend at least one state board meeting per year and take four hours of continuing education per year which may include local, state or national seminars. This must be achieved by January 2007. If criteria is not accomplished by January 2007 these registered associates will be placed on the inactive registered associate list.
To achieve the status of Life Registered Associate an individual must accomplish the following:
- Be a member in good standing of the HBAK
- Have achieved the status of Registered Associate
- Accumulated 2500 participation points as determined by the Registered Associate Program guidelines.
Once a person achieves the Life Registered Associate status by accumulating 2500 points, they are always a Life Registered Associate and receive:
- Recognition at Board Meetings and Conventions as a Life Registered Associate
- Registration fee for board meetings will be complimentary
- A feature story in the Associates section of the KBJ upon completion of the Life Registered Associate designation
Registered Associate and Life Registered Associate designations can be withdrawn at any time by the Associates Committee in the event of a member’s gross misconduct to the detriment of the industry and or the association.
